Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Haywood County Criminal History. Using the website means accepting all terms below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act purposes. Haywood County and North Carolina record links are provided for general reference. We are neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently from all government offices. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve files, perform official checks, or submit documents for a user.

Its function is to identify the Haywood County Sheriff, the criminal courts, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry as distinct official sources, while also providing access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar tools against the pages
  • Violate any local, state, or federal law
  • Interfere with site access, speed, or availability for other users
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Rely on the content for housing, hiring, lending, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use site information or a linked tool to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct can be criminal. The restriction is especially important for the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Article 27A information serves public safety and community awareness, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no credit report, consumer report, or background check. Our advertising partners do not offer their linked services here for FCRA-regulated screening. Information from the website or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Evaluate credit or insurance eligibility
  • Make an employment decision
  • Assess a rental or housing application
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A person needing a legally compliant check must use the official North Carolina process or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice. General information about Haywood County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expunction law applies to a specific person. Ask a licensed North Carolina attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content is provided "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Partner search results are complete or correct
  • Information remains current, accurate, or complete
  • The website will operate without interruption
  • The pages contain no error, bug, or security flaw

Charges, dispositions, restrictions, and expunctions can change a criminal record. Updates may lag. Only an originating court, sheriff, or government agency can make an official statement about its record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may open a sheriff page, court portal, state agency, legal resource, or outside search service. We do not control an external site's content, availability, privacy practices, or charges. Its own terms govern its use.

8. Intellectual Property

Haywood County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, graphics, logos, and code presented here. Copying, changing, distributing, or creating derivative content requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the website must be brought in a court located in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
